Re: Dead ASCll Keyboard.

Hi PaulB,

Herb Johnson has a web page here http://www.retrotechnology.com/restore/sol_keys.html which records his work on a similar repair to yours. The page also has links to other peoples repair pages too.
May be of some help to you.

Re: The 1 wire solution to the Wall Wart ACI issue..

Hi Tranter,

Where can I find the updated firmware for the Replica 1 EEPROM? What version is it?
Also do you know where I can find the listing of the data which should be in the ACI EPROM?

Thank you.

Re: The 1 wire solution to the Wall Wart ACI issue..

Hi Corey, I have one of the ACI kits. I have not built it yet. One thing I was pondering is that the amount of hysteris will be different depending on which position JP1 is fitted. With -12V on the LM311 pin 4, then the output, pin 7, will swing to around -10V (Ithink). However with Ground on the LM...

Re: No keyboard input

Hi Jim, The two 10kOhm resistors are used to pull the clock line & the data line up to +5 Volts - as the data signal & the Clock signal are open collector (ie just either switch to ground or are open circuit). The keyboard will reset when power is applied as the +5V power supply is connected...

Re: No keyboard input

Hi Jim,

It is possible you need to add the two 10k pull up resistors. I don't think Vince has updated the board yet to include them. See this topic for details viewtopic.php?f=21&t=463

Re: PS/2 keyboard is not working on my PT

Hi, You may need the two 10K ohm pull up resistors to +5V on the data & clock lines on the PS/2 connector. There was a mention of this some where earlier on in this forum. See the item titled "Another kit working fine, keyboard USB-PS/2 problem solved".
