EDIT: It's fixed now, taking apart the keyboard and putting it back together seemed to have it working, although the USB keyboard with PS/2 Adaptor still isn't working :s
Hi, I have a fairly firm grasp of BASIC on the replica 1 now, and wanted to give machine code programming a shot, or hexadecimal data sort of stuff, it seems quite interesting after reading about it, and would like some information on how to get started! I'm aware of the KRUSADER assembler built int...
This is all I could find about upgrading the memory, should be similar wiring to the replica but not sure: http://www.applefritter.com/node/2803 You can see how the memory chips on the breadboard section have been wired and soldered to certain pins on the mainboard, anybody know which chips and whic...
Very possible I think, just hard to get a browser programmed on BASIC, and with such a small memory size, I'm sure you could build more memory onto the board though, hmmm. I'd love internet on it, just for the fact I can say "I'm using the internet on a computer from the 70's!"
When replacing the reset and clear buttons on the replica 1 to be fitted to the exterior of a case, I wanted to go for a heavy and tactile feel, going with some metal momentary flip switches for the reset and clear! I've gone for these on ebay, should be arriving sometime next week, during which I w...
Sorry I can't help you, but your not alone, I get the same problem when loading some of the programs in, my only guess is the serial lead might "miss a beat" and not load a single character in so it gives a syntax error, as I'm pretty sure the txt. example files are error free :s
Hey, I was trying to find a reference guide to Apple Basic for the replica 1, I managed to find a reference list for the apple 2, but obviously a lot of the commands wont be included in the apple 1 version, does anyone know where I can find a list? Thanks
No problem, just remember heat transfer is the key, solder wont stick to something cold! Heat the contact pad, keep the soldering iron in place, and feed the solder through the other side of the lead (soldering iron on one side of the lead, solder on the other) Careful not to feed too much solder to...
I do have a serial connector, I can port the new version onto my replica, right? What if I want to replace the ROM with the standard version that came with the kit if I'm not happy?
Welcome to the forums! Vince is very helpful and willing to help out any questions you have, and to justify the price, I'd say the amount of effort he puts in, alongside the quality of the kit, well justifies the price! I used 60/40 rosin core solder, and a rather basic soldering iron (not sure what...
I also remember seeing an image somewhere of someones replica 1 executing the exact same code sample I provided, only they got the correct answers and not zero?
Thanks for the information! It was probably a dream or something but I'm sure I once had it display decimal point numbers, but seems like it doesn't, thanks again!
Hi, whenever I'm doing division of any sort in basic, and the number has a decimal place, for example 0.52 or 3.78, BASIC returns a zero, and nothing else. For example, from looking at this code you'd expect BASIC to give me 10 numbers with decimal places or similar, but it returns zero for each one...
Hey there, my replica kit works fine, I tested it yesterday on my TV with the yellow composite lead. I originally wanted to use a 15 inch Dell monitor, but this is a 15 pin VGA connection. I bought a 15 pin to 9 pin adaptor so I could use it with my replica, and the screen remains blank. When I pres...
