See the post w/pictures I just made - after installing the "new" video chip I got from you, a IIc monitor works perfectly.

Success with Apple IIc monitor

I'd not messed with my Replica-1 (first edition) after installing the new video chip and verifying that it didn't improve the display on the 4" LCD I bought a while back - this was months ago. However, a couple of months ago, I finally acquired a 9" monochrome monitor from an Apple IIc. Du...

Since the replica 1 draws approx 250mA it falls within the 500mA specs of being connected to a direct USB port and not a powered USB hub. I've tried this method and it does work but it really bothers me because of the risk of somebody doing damage to their system. This does open the possibility of ...

The more LEDs, the better! I love blinkylights. Too bad you can't put a bank of them in to indicate CPU activity, etc. 8-) One suggestion - the holes on the four corners of the PCB on Rev1 were tiny - any chance of making them a little larger on the SE? I had a bunch of PC motherboard standoffs/scre...

$6 for just the video upgrade chip. I'm curious if it helps with your 4" display. Vince Got the chip yesterday, installed it today - no change. I think I just have the junkiest 4" LCD on the planet. 8-) Also - the Atari Flashback II (Atari 2600 with built-in games) looks like junk on the same LCD t...

I'll definitely give the new video firmware a shot. Rather than ship you a chip to then be shipped back, can I can just send you some $$$ for a new chip?

I paid $36 plus $25 for shipping from Hong Kong. Feed back shows fast shipping and good seller so I'm hoping for a good transaction. Yeah Bill, you 4" was the 2nd one I've seen like that. It's like the colors are bleeding together to form the white and don't do a good job. Vince It gave a crappy pi...

Re: 7" composite LCD on the way

I just purchased a 7" LCD off eBay and I'm going to try it on the replica to see how it does. It is suppose to be full TV resolution so it "should" work great. I'll be sure to post my results once I get it. Vince Hopefully it works better than the 4" one I have :? How much did you pay for it?

Just an update - I've successfully run my R1 off a 5V@2A wall wart that I got for cheap at the local electronics shop. It's much nicer than having to hook up a super-huge power supply.

I occasionally get this as well. I usually just clear/reset a couple of times and everything is fine.

Serial I/O thoughts

I received my serial I/O board today, its one of the new "cabled" versions versus the "direct connect" version. Some thoughts after getting it working: - Didn't work at *all* with either the USB-to-serial adapter on my Mac, or the normal COM1 serial port on my laptop (WinXP SP2). Using the exact sam...
