Re: Can't set vector locations

Vince: Sincere apologies on the delay. I've not had much time for my old hobbies lately. Anyway, I've checked all the connections that you list, and all are okay. I paged through a few of the memory locations starting from 1780, and compiled a list of what I observed. Note, though that at a few loca...

Can't set vector locations

Finally got around to powering up my Micro-KIM from the 'I can't solder' sale, and I'm a bit stuck. It powers on fine, and I can enter an address and modify the contents of that address. That is, everywhere except 17FA-17FF. I can't set the vector locations. I hit 'AD', type '17FB', hit 'DA', and ty...

I'd be up for a laptop-scale Apple II board. Even better, throw an integrated mass storage device (SD, CF, etc.) in for good measure. Just add a small keyboard, small display, battery, and you've got one fantastic portable Oregon Trail machine.

Do you recall the part #'s for the sockets that you used for the green numerals?

Update:

Clock signal, pin 37, on the 6502 is registering 2.8v. The sync line on the 6502 is registering 5v.

I think I've about exhausted my abilities with my voltmeter. I guess I'll be in contact about the up-and-running service.

Thanks,
-matt

Progress report

I've been a bit busy since I put the Replica 1 together, but I have checked a couple of things and managed to get a scan of my solders. * The oscillator is installed correctly. * Reset functions properly. Voltage drop from 4.6v to 0v when switch is depressed. Hopefully, I will have some time tonight...

Blinking "@", No Reset

I've gotten everything soldered up, and all the initial tests went fine (power to proper pins, etc...). The first test with the Atmega8, 7HC74, and 74HC166 resulted in a row and a half of 0000's, followed by periods, until I powered down. When I get to the final step of inserting the remaining IC's ...

I didn't realize they'd added component input to the things. I stopped by Walgreen's on the way to work, and sure enough, their 5" model had component input, so I'm good to go now.

Of course, now I HAVE to plug my Wii into it. Retro, meet Wii.

Thanks!

Portable TV's: How to connect?

While I'm waiting on my Replica 1 kit to ship, I've been mulling over possibilities for monitors, and I've decided I'd prefer either a 5" portable B&W tv (cheap and readily available), or an Apple IIc 9" display. I'd rather partial to the IIc display, but they seem to command a high pr...
