Ok fellows, here we go: Micro- chess is divided into five parts: Part one 0000-04F: ;180000D8A2FF9AA2C886B2201F1F206A1FC5F3F0F685F3C90CD00F0D9E ;180018A21FB5709550CA10F986DCA9CCD012C90ED00720B202A9EE0CA0 ;180030D007C914D00B20A20385FB85FA85F9D0BFC90FD006204B030BC4 ;1800484C9D014C960110000800090400400...
Yes, fellows, you pointed to the sources where I got my print-outs from. It is a good idea to try "KIMpaper" to convert the program, because I can make a lot of mstakes when I try to type the program into the Micro-KIM. Next week I'll have a few hours of time to solve the problem.... Thank...
Hi, I'm wondering if there is any need for Peter Jennings' "Micro Chess". It was THE sensation in those years. I would like to play it again - but I cannot find any working program. Does anybody here have it and want to share? Or is there any copyright which could inhibit this? I have the ...
Hi, this little program will help you to check whether you typed a program correct or not. Just set the BREAK-Vector to 0300 (i.e. 17FA=00 / 17FB=03, so hitting the "ST"-key will start this program. If you want to check another area of memory press "RS"-key and type in the desire...
This program "BRANCH" is from page 115. It is fully relocatable. Start at adress 0000 and enter the last two digits of starting adress - then type in last two digits of adress where you want to branch to. ;180000D818A5FAE5FB85F9C6F9201F1F206A1FC5F3F0EC85F3C9100EB0 ;180018B0E60A0A0A0AA2040A...
Hi there, here is one of my favourite programs: "Farmer Brown" (page 64): ;180200A20D866EA9009560CA10FBA20BB560D03BCA10F9E66DA56C0C34 ;180218F009C66DC66ED0034C2519AD04174A4A4A4A4AC90690022908B3 ;1802300318AA690A856FBDA4028570A9028571A005B1709966008809BC ;18024810F8846CA205B566D013CA10F9204...
Ok, I'm wondering who has free time to type in some of the programs I didn't get dumped from the first book of KIM, and can post them here? I only had time to do a few of these programs and then I did the paper tape dump like in the Micro-KIM manual. If anybody can help enter some of these, it woul...
I'm having problems with serial communications between my Windows machine and the Micro-KIM. Anyone have ideas on how to troubleshoot? Thanks, David Hi Dave, you give (too) little informations of the problems... Do you have any "KIM"- message on the screen? Do you have a "real" ...
In my opinion, I would like to have another 6532 RIOT or something like that. Single board computers are best for interfacing with the rest of the world, and the KIM was one of the first to do that and it had most applications with those keys, LEDs, and whatever. In the moment, I see no reason for m...
Woohoo! I'm up and running. The ground on the voltage regulator was the issue. As soon as I reheated the solder on the heat sink the voltage dropped down to 5Vs. After that, the far left 7-segment LED (U7) wasn't lighting, but after reheating the joints on Q1, R6, R7 and U8 it was working fine. Rig...
Hi together,
another good news: My Micro-Kim is running ok now. The EPROM had "weak cells". I programmed another and - BINGO! "Number five is living" (I got serial number 000005)
Thanks a lot for help.

I would think this is an EPROM issue. That is the one item you haven't replaced. Do you have access to an EPROM and a programmer? The source code bin file is on the Micro-KIM page for download. Vince Thanks a lot, Vince. That is exactly what I thought. I had a similar effect with my old PET. OK I'l...
