Here's my first program, originally written for my Apple II+ when I was in 5th grade. It was pretty much a screen saver, so this appears to be a perfect section to post it. 10 REM ---JOBY'S SNAKE--- 20 DIM S$(5) 30 S$ = "<--->" 40 FOR I = 1 TO 35 50 TAB I: PRINT S$ 60 NEXT I 70 FOR...
I would like to create a sound card. The idea to model it from came from the sound card for the Chaos I: http://koo.corpus.cam.ac.uk/chaos/ which mentioned: The soundcard was constructed from this TI analog IC: a, so-called, complex sound generator. The SN76477 chip contained all of the major parts ...
:wink: Luckily, my electronics skills lack enough to prevent me from first using the tools of the trade (actually I only own a $10 soldering iron and a multimeter that I really don't use). I crossed my fingers and searched for an obvious physical sign first. As luck would have it... I was forgetful....
Without a specially designed expansion card, the info streaming in appears to be too fast for the serial I/O card to process in the same way as Hyper Terminal.
Finally! :D For the life of me, I couldn't seem to get Hyper Terminal on XP service pack 2 via USB to Serial working... however, I was able to get Windows 98 SE via Serial port on my old laptop working perfectly. Directions in the manual were perfect. Its really nice to be able to store a program in...
I'm having some issues trying to get the serial I/O card to work. I'm on XP using Hyper Terminal... followed the settings outlined in the manual. Using a USB to Serial cable. No communication across hyper terminal. I've tried setting to all the COM ports available, just in case I was on the wrong on...
I'm toying with the idea of connecting a Garmin GPS to the serial I/O card or build a card for the expansion slot. GPSs can stream data in a simple ASCII format via serial... only catch is 4800 baud. Would be ideal to use the serial I/O card (which is 2400 baud?), then just write a BASIC program tha...
I felt rather ashamed when I figured out what the cause was from first powering up and getting odd garbage on the monitor, but thought others might have the same problem. I had left the ASCII/PS2 jumper (lower-right corner) on (which is how it comes in the kit), and if using a PS/2 keyboard it shoul...
I'm using a Dell 2001 FP, which has an analog video input among others allowing for builtin switching between my Mac, PC and Replica I. :) Works perfectly. The monitor does a great job auto detecting signals and settings. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&...
