Haven't tried your game yet, but I enjoyed reading over your blog.

Re: What cross-assembler is Krusader written for?

I worked on it using the 6502 Assembler by Michal Kowalski. This is mentioned at the end of the first page of the manual with the link as a footnote, but it seems the link is out of date and you now need to go to http://exifpro.com/utils.html. The assembler and environment was very handy for debuggi...

Re: Replica 1 ROM image

Yes - it is corrupt. I lost the ability to remotely login to that server 2 years ago so I can't fix. The whole site will move shortly - I have a new server and am just in the process of updating. The latest version is the one needed anyway - the others are really just for historical interest. :-) Ken

Re: EEPROM Burner Question

If you look at the Replica schematic you will see that A000 is low for addresses Axxx, and similarly B000 is low for Bxxx. The two NAND gates make an AND on these inputs implying CE is high *except* when A000 and B000 are not both high, i.e. except when addressing somewhere in the range A000-BFFF. T...

Re: Programming in machine code

There is a one-to-one mapping between assembly language and machine code (macros aside - not supported in Krusader or Woz's Apple II mini-assembler at any rate) so there is absolutely no gain working in machine code rather than assembly. You do exactly the same thing, but with an assembler you can r...

Re: Krusader 1.3 on CFFA1

The code for Krusader 1.3 supports assembling to RAM (set INROM = 0), but you lose the mini-monitor since it is dependent on one of the interrupt vectors. But that can be worked around as well.

Re: Affordable USB EEPROM Programmer

It was a good while ago I bought mine, but this is similar in capability and price.

Re: What can replica 1 do?

It does what you tell it. :-) I use mine to write programs in assembly - it is plenty powerful enough to do a lot that way. I also use mine to play around with relatively simple digital logic circuits - all the signals you need are right there on the expansion interface. On my webpage there's the as...

Well, it's better at $100 than $0, since at least we can put a JMP in and have a reasonable chance of it hanging around. :-) BTW, $FE14 is the correct for Kruader 1.3. Prior to this version, I left the Woz montor code unchanged - the only change higher than $FF00 being this single vector. However, t...

An earlier thread has some discussion of this problem: http://www.brielcomputers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=333 Basically, the mini-monitor needs the IRQ vector set to the correct address - and that address is certainly not $100. As described in the above thread, you can put a JMP $xxxx there (where...

Nice write up. My Replica is two versions too old to try this, but looks well worth doing on the TE.

OK. I have put up a little write-up at http://school.anhb.uwa.edu.au/personalpages/kwessen/apple1/extensions/extensions.html There's also a link from the KRUSADER page. If anyone wants the schematic and board source in Eagle format or has any other questions or comments, just get in touch. I have 4 ...
