Re: Two serial ports?

Dot-matrix printers could be serial or parallel or both. My Oki printer (another Epson mx80 compatible printer) has a parallel interface but also a slot for an optional serial board. Which I also have, fortunately.

Re: Do we normally get a tracking number for our shipments?

I believe I got a tracking number when my replica ten kit was shipped. Of course, as it is these days, the tracking stopped when the shipment left the U.S. border (unlike some years back when tracking actually meant tracking. I don't think packages are even physically scanned anymore.)

Re: Getting ready for the 8800 micro.

What protocol does the keyboard talk? If it doesn't have a ps/2 connector it's unlikely to be ps/2..

Re: 8800micro speed compared to real 8800?

The product page says "emulating 8MHz processor", so it certainly runs a bit fast compared to the original (2 MHz).

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

So.. I should have built the MicroKIM instead of the replica-1 and then I would've had both? :)
I like the idea of using a Quickstart this way.

Re: The (un)official "I got my Replica 1 Ten" thread

Update: My #24 checked out fine with the voltmeter, installed all ICs and tested via the USB serial interface (as I don't have the RCA video connector as mentioned above). I use Minicom on Linux, everything works. Krusader, monitor, Integer Basic and Applesoft Basic. Been a long time since I last sa...

Re: The (un)official "I got my Replica 1 Ten" thread

Finally got to build my #24 (see first post in this thread). It took a while before I had everything I needed for the project, including time. I'm currently in Japan so I didn't have any of my equipment from back home. Fixed up an old soldering iron, found a circle-LED magnifying lamp in a shop (ver...

The (un)official "I got my Replica 1 Ten" thread

The mailman just called at the door with my Replica 1 Ten #24. :) The USPS tracking went silent after it left USA less than 4 days ago, I expected it to take a bit longer to reach Japan but I was pleasantly surprised. Now to start soldering. If I had still been in Norway I would have had access to t...

Re: replica 1 tenth anniversary edition

Has shipping started as planned? I admit I'm getting slightly apprehensive about the schedule by now.. I'm in Norway but I'm going to Japan somewhen near the end of the month and I had hoped to bring the kit so I could build it when over there.
