Looks like it was a great event. Very nice shots of some wonderful machines. So glad I could help in my small way.

Re: Scrolling display utility

Glad that you've got it going! And yes, I did display the messages out of order on purpose. I'm a software QA guy and that kind of thing is part of my nature ;)
Feel free to re-define any of the 'non-standard' characters (some of them are rather clumsy).
And I'd love to see a video of your demo.

Re: Scrolling display utility

I was able to play with it a bit over the holidays and made a message scroller using Jim Butterfield's scan routine from Wumpus. Here's the source: Hi. This looks like fun. Could you give some instructions on how to use this? I transfered the KIM-code bit into my Micro-KIM and I get a blank screen....

Re: Serial interface usage

FWIW, I had something similar occur when I was using minicom connected to my Micro-Kim running fig-forth. IIRC, it cleared up when I changed from 8-1-N to 7-1-E. You might try something along those lines.

Re: FAT formatted SD-card interface for Micro-KIM with tape

I realize this thread is _very_ stale, but I am interested in the prospect of using an sd card as a drive for the Micro-KIM. Has anyone actually done this? I would (probably) use FIG-forth as the OS. Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

Re: Scrolling display utility

Aart, I _really_ like your assembler. Thanks for providing it. I was able to play with it a bit over the holidays and made a message scroller using Jim Butterfield's scan routine from Wumpus. Here's the source: ; kim_msg.asm ; testing lin2c64 6510 assembler ; using J. Butterfield's scan display from...

Re: Briel Computers as a first 'big' project -- where to sta

On the other hand...
The Micro-Kim is a really great kit. Lots of fun to build, looks great, and an excellent 6502 to work with in assembler or even Forth ;)
Vince has done a great job with all of his kits.

Re: FIG-FORTH on the Micro-kim, my very first run

Does anyone have fig-forth in a KIM paper tape format ?
---
Update, I forgot about the kimpaper utility. After compiling it for my Linux box, I was able to covert the 6502K.BIN to a .pap file and install it.

Re: Almost running, paper tape format?

Thanks for the posting guys. I just want to confirm I'm running minicom in linux and have my ascii file transfer set for:
/usr/bin/ascii-xfr -sen -c10 -l200

Just now I loaded the clock.txt prog from the CD and it worked great.

cheers,

Re: Recommendations for best Micro-KIM retro experience

Thanks for the info, that sounds like it would work. Think I'll add that to my wish list. You can't believe what a VT 100 goes for on Ebay.
