Hi, As far as I have seen you have done the right things. I have done the same test when I activated my 32K RAM expansion, with the same program and the same kimpaper command. 1. Jumper at the right location? 2. Loading ends with success? If not add more ms to especially line delay As far as I can ...

Thanks for the responses. Yep, I have J1 removed, and I've run two tests so far. The first one was the memory test program from the first book of Kim. I've run this a number of times, and each time it comes back without errors. The second test I ran was to write some bytes to memory locations above ...

Kim Basic (KB9) Problems.

Hey all, I can't seem to get Kim Basic running with the new memory expansion. I pulled the original KB9 from Hans' site, converted it with kimpaper and then loaded it. When I go to 4065 and hit G, I get a bunch of junk on the terminal after a moment or two. I ran a couple of tests to make sure I cou...

Thanks Vince. I ended up checking the First Book of Kim, and it has a memory testing program. There's a paper tape dump of it in the software forum (which I didn't realize until after I had already entered it in). Everything tested good, so I'm going to fiddle with basic shortly. I wonder if I can f...

Testing 32K RAM Expansion?

Hey All, I put my 32K RAM card together today, and I'm looking for recommended ways to test the new memory. I'm going to try loading MS Basic, and I could probably write some code to to go in and write test each memory location, but I thought I would ask here for recommendations first. Thanks for an...

You can find binary files of Micro Chess (and others) on this page: http://www.hansotten.com/indexkim.html With kimpaper you should be able to convert these to papertape format for uploading through a serial connection. Also, here's an interesting article about modifying Micro Chess to be more chall...

I've been using "6502" Assembler and Simulator on Windows then saving as a "binary program", converting to paper-tape via "kimpaper.exe". It works well with the KIM as well as the Replica 1. 6502 Download: http://home.pacbell.net/michal_k/6502.html Nice. I just downloa...

MultiMaze Listing

Using Adobe Reader 8 and UltraEdit, I was able to cut the code out of the First Book of Kim (poor mans OCR) and dump it into a text file. UltraEdit was used to do column cut-n-paste. Here's the listing, mostly proof read, for MultiMaze (the formatting is slightly out of wack)... MULTI-MAZE BY JIM BU...

Here's the Addition program from Pg. 24. Assembler

Hey,

Does anyone know if the hex files created by the xa65 assembler will run on the Micro-Kim? Or, if there's another assembler that will work with the Micro-Kim? I can run a few tests on this to find out, but I thought I would ask first to see if anyone knows.

Thanks,

Jason
