Re: Altair 8800 PC

Yep I've been looking at the IMSAI for a few years now but it is still in the prototype/design stage as far as I can make out from their website. I have been tempted to buy the Briel's baby Altair but then thought maybe the full sized one might be also on the cards for a few months? I have also look...

A question regarding the Apple I / Replica

I have been doing a bit of reading about the Apple 1 lately, but couldn't find an answer to this, does it run the same software as an Apple II? From what I rather there wasn't really much commercial software written for the Apple I, so apart from the obvious tinkering around with electronics, what d...

Re: Need to reduce my collection

Mac 128K - has keyboard and mouse, needs cleaning and needs the disk drive cleaned as it has the load/unload issue from gummed up grease. Other than that, fully power up. Vince Keep the 128 and hack up for us a USB or SD card type device that plugs into the floppy port as a means of mass storage. H...

Hi Vince

I saw the Altair video, very nice

do you have to have a picture of your full sized version?

I like that idea of fitting the Altair inside a desktop case with another motherboard,

Like with the Imsai Series II:

Interesting comments, I was thinking about that this morning... Excuse my ignorance but the switches on the original Altair 8800 were used to boot strap the system from the monitor to BASIC, or to boot strap it to load a floppy disk, yes? Vince will yours already have a boot ROM, to load into the Po...

Hi Vince thanks for updating us, I like what I see very much, do you have a ball park price figure you are working the kit into? The only other thing I would like to see, but I would still buy one as is is an expansion port, like on your Apple1 replica, so that in the future people could make up an ...
