Apple 1 - $160K

http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/innovation/11/12/apple.computer.auction/index.html

I wonder if the guy who buys it, knows about the Replica 1? :) Of course this one is the real deal. (No offence, Vince!)

Re: First run is now sold out! Taking orders for the 2nd bat

Are you still taking preorders for the Altair kit? (Last post was August and I'm not sure if you have sold out again?)
Thanks!

Re: Adventure-350pt version: porting has begun

Alas, I haven't gotten anywhere with it :( I spend all my waking programming hours immersed in Java right now.
Every other week I look at my poor Replica 1 and keep meaning to get back to it.

Just a quick thought about that bug, but bear in mind I haven't looked at the instruction set... I wonder if it overflows when you try to add to odd numbers, but not even numbers. I recall seeing a similar behavior decades ago on an old 68xx chip where an odd number had a flag set in the status regi...

I've gotten this mod to work and it is incredibly fast and I haven't noticed a single download error yet. My thanks to Will for his technical support. I had a real problem getting it going at first, and it looks like there might be an issue with the full hardware version of the firmware, which I had...

Here's where I show my ignorance of the Altair... If it is going to have video output, keyboard and SD card support, why all the front panel switches? Is this just to make it compatible with the original Altair that had no display or keyboard? Or they are an essential part of the single stepping ins...

Hello Ken, I don't seem to have the mini-monitor that you refer to in chapter 7 of the Krusader manual. I have the Replica 1 TE (I don't know how to get the ROM Version?) with Krusader 1.3. IRQBRK at $FFFE is not set to $FE0A as you state, it points to $0001, and when I run the test program you give...

Replica 1 TE: Built and working

I had a very enjoyable time building this kit, and some hairy moments too. Right now I have it talking to my Mac via a serial->USB interface, and now I can get down to some serious programming. Actually, I think I will take the time to modify it for super-fast serial comms using the mod described by...

Solder Bridge

Everything going well on making my kit (TE) so far, except for the following: On pin19 of U10, the 74LS245 it is like 0.5mm from a tiny hole connecting to the front side of the board. When I soldered the pin of the chip socket, it bridged to this hole. Are these supposed to be connected? I didn't lo...

I watched this yesterday on Netflix. I hadn't seen this thread so I was merrily watching away and then I'm thinking.... wait... I "know" this guy... what a small world! I thought your interview pieces were perfectly fine, Vince. You communicated well. The whole documentary was definitely w...

Looks professional so far, although I'm personally not a fan of black sites. ;-) My suggestions: 1. Combine the Home and News pages, since it makes sense to me to have the News as the home page. If you have other plans for the home page, then at least make News the 2nd link after Home, and then list...

Hmm, this is something I wouldn't mind having a look at. I've dealt with some great text compression algos in my youth so I bet we could get that text shrunk about 30-50% Has anyone tried porting Dungeon yet? I didn't know the original Fortran code was available, that's great! Of course my Replica-1...
