Re: Expansion board with more slots leading up to new expans

.. You guys have been patient about expansion .. I just ordered the Expansion board tonight. So, I will have a 4 slot board ready in about 2 weeks for $20 kit and a 6532 expansion board ready shortly after that. Vince Hm, perhaps we should nag you more for this! I see you are working on the Altair,...

Maxim sells the PDIP equivalent MAX662A online in their shop.

Better avoid SMD in the kits.

Tested the PockeTerm with my Micro-KIM at 1200 baud : works. Also tested with several LCD screens, 1024x768, 1280x1024 types. Both worked fine, though a refresh frequency of 69 Hz is not optima for LCD, 60 Hz would be better. The choice of color settings is nice, I do like green or amber or white :)...

Another kit working fine, keyboard USB-PS/2 problem solved

I have succesfully assembled the kit, the manual guided me just fine through the steps. Took me just over an hour. The PockeTerm worked right away. Thanks to mfortuna's tip, put jumpers in 1&2 and 5&6, and testing is independent of cables and computers to connect. A standard keyboard with PS...

Re: Expansion board with more slots leading up to new expans

Looks great, welcome addition! Dont worry about the cassette interface, the KIM-1 design is a way more robust design. Your 6532 design will have the possibility of adding relays for control of two cassette recorders? See the Micro Ade manual for the defacto standard way for that. I would love to see...

Re: Machined or standard sockets

After fighting since the early 80ties with the quality of the sockets in the Apple II, standard sockets! I would advise no one to use less than machined sockets. If a kit contains standard sockets, I throw them away and replace with machined.

Re: First run sold out, second run on order

The first run of boards sold out in one day. That is the first time I have had boards go in a day since I first started the replica 1 project 5 years ago. More boards are due in on Feb 24 and I will continue to take orders and let people know of the 1 week delay. Vince You have a hit! Congrats! Thi...

China Newyear festivities. Lots of traveling people to their hometowns and families, so most companies close at least a week. Too early for spring!

.... Just glancing, the MMC2IEC is I2C, correct. Vince Its not I2C, its IEC, a serial form of IEEE. All peripherals made by Commodore, after the PET and such, were intelligent serial IEC devices. Disks, printers. A bit slow due to a bug in the 6522 serial shift out implementation. The MMC2IEC is op...
