Looks good!

SD adapter? Hm, something a Propellor can handle indeed. Would be great for loading programs or data in the SBC, or store!

Use the Easycap to watch Apple 1 video on a PC screen

Most of us will have a PC next to the Apple 1. Connected via the serial/USB connection, great for cross development, and great to surf the internet for 6502 info. Having to place a separate monitor for the video output takes up room on your desk. So I looked for a solution to show video on the PC sc...

Re: 32k board for Real Kim-1

bugman wrote:How difficult would it be to adapt the 32k expansion board to a real Kim-1? Is it just a matter of making a connection adapter, or would hardware/logic changes be necessary?

The Micro-KIM is so equal to the real KIM-1, it is only a matter of connector to connector wiring.

Create your own Version of Microsoft BASIC for 6502

First written in 1976, Microsoft BASIC for the 8 bit MOS 6502 has been available for virtually every 6502-based computer including the Commodore series (PET, C64), the Apple II series, Atari 8 bit machines, and many more. Including the KIM-1. On this blog Michael Steil discusses the family of Micros...

Re: Looks like a cool project.

Congrats Vince on your new toy! Making a replica indeed will be complicated by the matrix keyboard. You build it and I of course will purchase one. Not too familiar with the OSI 600... How will this compare with your Replica1 kit? Looking over some of the collector sites, there was a floppy drive op...

The KIM-1 does not set the binary/decimal flag by default.

Set the CPU to binary by entering 0 at address F1

I have used Micro Ade on my original KIM-1 with much pleasure, in the years 1979 to 1983 . Two tape recorders under control of the Micro Ade program, a VT100 terminal via a serial inetrface (6850 based), it was perfect. I can still read the old cassette recordings! Nowadays no one has the patience a...

Re: Well, it is off topic but a briel computers product

A few years back as a favor, I designed a RAM card for the Apple IIgs. Just a simple little card that used 30pin simm chips from 486 systems along with a single chip for decoding the banks. Well, I haven't seen Bill making these for a while and people have been asking for them so I did a little red...

Here are pics of the building. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~ftit/uKIM/index.html Thank you, Mr. Briel, for re-issuing the KIM-1, and to the members of this forum for answering (or at least taking a whack at) my questions. I did some programming work on a $85 computer from Thailand. Its a 300MHz 486 SX with ethernet, VGA, serial x 2, etc. It will boot and install linux off of a compact flash card. Looks a bit limited. Internal hard disk and then no WiFi etc? No floating point, which severely limits any x86 software t...

Re: In the beginning

Well, it has been over 5 years since I got the replica 1 up and running. For anybody who hasn't seen the old applefritter forums here's a link. 5 YEARS already! I'll have to have some sort of anniversary edition or something :D http://www.applefritter.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=apple1;action=di...
