My Apple I replica

Vince asked me to post some pictures of my Replica I. I just assmbled it for a History of Technology class project. I personally think its an A+!

Since I'm only using a PS/2 keyboard, I wired an N-size DC power jack to a switch and then to the +5 and GND holes on the PCB near the top middle of the board. I also wired in a red LED to the power so it lights up when the power is switched on. I wired in some huge Radio Shack push-buttons for reset and clear. The whole thing is in a paper mache lunch box (well, Hobby Lobby calls it a "purse") so it's portable.

I want to build another using one of those super-small keyboards (like the Happy Hacker) builtin to the top. I'd also like to incorporate a small 640x480 LCD screen in as well. That way the whole thing would be self-contained and only require a wall-plug. I'm considering looking into battery options as well, but that's likely to get heavy.

Anyhowways, here is the pic. You can see more on my Flickr page.

Nice job on the Replica 1; Batteries work great.

I like your Replica 1 project. Clean installation.

For fun, I powered my Rev C Replica with a 9VDC Battery regulated by a 7805 for about 3 hours. I used a Apple IIc for a monitor and ran a simple calculate and display program to throw a little load on it.

Very nice...

I just got my Replica 1 SE this X-mas, took me four hours to put together...
Great fun...

Now if I can only find a nice case, I'll post some pictures as well
