6P4C Keyboard for Replica I

Postby blufenderstrat07 » Sep Tue 06, 2011 3:37 pm

Hey everyone!

I'm working on getting some parts (and $$) together before ordering a Replica I kit. I happen to have an old HP terminal keyboard that uses a 6P4C connector (looks like a phone jack), but I believe it is still, at it's basic level, an ASCII keyboard. I was curious if anyone has been able to adapt one of these style keyboards with an ASCII keyboard connector like the Replica I requires, so that it may be used with the kit. I realize I could just use a PS/2 keyboard, but the nostalgia level goes way up with this old terminal keyboard. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Check out http://kbdbabel.org - they may have something that you could use (or start from).
