Just an update, the RAM drives are shipping, I have some going out tomorrow. Another run will go out on Tuesday. I want to have all shipped next week.

Ok, I have 1 disk controller left to sell. I wanted to have everything out this week but i probably won't have the last units out until sometime next week. Please email me to make sure I have a disk controller available before ordering.

Throw in a free 8800micro and I'll take the last RAM drive ;-)

No?

Well, worth a try.

The RAM drive went together nicely & worked first time after assembly. Following the tip on the troubleshooting forum, I installed a 10k pull-up resistor the on the Disk RAM chips' write enable pin before I installed it and have had no disk corruption issues on power off/on. Running CP/M 2.2, I'm partying like it's 1979! (or thereabouts). Again, a very nice high quality PCB and kit which went together easily just like 8800 Micro did. Kudos to Vince, Garry, Al and all the other folks who helped with the 8800 Micro project whose names I am not aware of.
Regards,
Jeff

Any word on another run of these boards?

I just got my Altair kit (SN 187) together - it booted on the first try and am ready to try CPM.

Hi Vince,
What kind of mods will be made to this run of 88DSK? it will be possible to make them to the existing 88dsk?
Thank you :)

Cool. I know there were some memory issues at shut down and data corruption. (I could live with it)

Sometimes, waiting to have it right is just fine.

I'm just going to add the little fix of the resistor on the WR pull up. Nothing major but every change in a board costs tooling charges, so I want to do all the changes at once.

Do you have any docs for it that I can drool over while I wait for more boards to become available?

Great news!

I'm really looking forward to the ramdisk/memory expansion and doing the CP/M thing.

I've been working on an expansion unit that will provide some additional display/interface options in the meantime. It should be done in a couple weeks and will be posted to the forum.

Hello Vince:

Have you made another run of these? I would like to order one of the disk RAM boards, and maybe some others would like to order one as well.

Yeah, I'll get an order page up shortly. The boards are stable, the only issue I've had is RAM chips and I can just test every RAM chip before shipping. I'll get the RAM drive up before this weekend.
