Kit #104 is kicking ass and taking names in Ontario, Canada.

It worked first time without a hitch.

Way to go Vince! I'm checking out your CP/M progress and cheering!

I finished kit #114 last night. This has been the most enjoyable kit build to date. I did have to make a small modification; the PCB standoff's glued to the front panel had broken off during shipping. I thought about re-gluing them but 1) I've never had much luck with gluing aluminum together (even with JB-weld the surfaces must be prepared perfectly) and 2) the standoff's were pretty much unusable due to glue coming up so far into the standoff's that the screws wouldn't go in enough. So I used some new standoffs and drilled holes into the front panel to secure the standoffs from the front. Looks pretty good and they are very secure now. I have the code listing for "Fool on the Hill" and am curious to see if it will generate RFI that an AM radio could pick up (we'll see :) ). I'm going to take a look at the expansion interface schematic and see what I can use it for. Computers are fun again!

I just finished building #139 - almost successfully. It starts up OK, but I haven't been able to get it to recognise an SD card yet.

It was a great build, with excellent instructions, and I had a ball building it :) The only problem was that the 16Mhz crystal and both 22uF caps were missing from my kit so I had to get replacement parts from Element 14 - cheap enough and fast enough that it didn't diminish from the enjoyment at all.

Hopefully I'll work out the SD problem soon.

#163 is built and running. Its also painted, and will have a nameplate (sticker) once I get a chance to print one up.

The color doesn't match at all, but I'm not too worried about it. Got some over spray on the top. :( Made sure to cover up the signature before spraying tho.

S/N #173 is up and running in Sweden. I think I will have to do the mod to the 88DSK RAM board.

I just built today the s/n 200! It took me between 4 and 5 hours. I think it has some minor issues though, I'll read the manual better and post about this later in a new thread.
I didn't put the LEDs all the way out of the front panel, but I put them so that only the "dome" sticks out of the panel, I think it looks much better like this! :)

Make sure you post a picture of it like that, I'm curious how it looks.

Hi Vince,
I'll do that. I think it looks better especially when seen "sideways".
How do I post photos, do I upload them somewhere like Imageshack and post the link here?

By the way, Vince: I sent you a few emails, did you get them?

Cristian

Yeah, upload to imageshack or photobucket then when you reply to this post, there is a button Img and you press that then put the link to the photo between
