I'll start.
adding a flashing led to the step switch so it would step though each instruction..
basicly i swaped the run stop switch with a on-off-on drilled a hole about 3mm for it to fit..

then ran the "flashing led" form the new hole to middle of the step switch.

2nd mod. After running my unit I found 5v reg was to hot for my taste.
as vbriel was nice and included a aluminium plate
so i unsolder the 5v reg and drilled a 3mm? hole found a 3 pin plug and socket off and old TV.
one cool regulator.

I want to make it more permanent and I need real RS232 to drive my recently acquired ADDS Regent 100/VT terminal. I'll have pictures of that soon.

are you going to have a switch internal/external or automatic switch

The latest firmware 5.0 will detect keyboard, if no keyboard the onboard terminal is no good so it will turn it off, leaving the RS232 hack free to run. The 88-DISK RAM card under development will have the serial to USB ready to go.

making the current on the 88-DSK-RAM lower.
I found the current on the backup battery was 2.5mA ..
so i look at what can do.. i removed the AVR and the current went down to 7uA cool.
here's what I came up with.. with 2 opto-coupler pc123
this mod is done close to the avr8515 so the pull up resistors are still working

I'm now going to add a BATT LITH 1/2AA 3.6V CYL W/LEADS should be good for 7-9 years
