Official Kansas Fest workshop information
by vbriel on Jun.30, 2012, under News, Vince's blog
The workload the last 2 weeks has been heavy and finding time to prepare for Kansas Fest 2012 has been difficult. I am hosting a workshop and participants can sign up and build a selected kit to build. I will be helping those who need guidance during the workshop to get their kits built. If you were there last year, you know how much fun it was. If you want to attend the workshop but can’t order a kit until Kansas Fest has started, drop me an email and I’ll put a kit aside for you.

Kansas Fest less than 4 weeks away

Kansas Fest is a gathering of Apple II fans that has been going on for many years. Last year we hosted a workshop with 20 people building the Apple II MP3 player card. 20 people left the workshop with working boards and smiles everywhere. We will once again be attending Kansas Fest and hope to host another workshop! If you are interested in building a kit at KFest, feel free to email me and I’ll put you down on a list.

replica 1 cassette interface
by vbriel on Jun.13, 2012, under News
We had some time to work on the ACI (cassette interface) for the replica 1. It’s had its ups and downs but the best success we’ve had was when we used only 5V for the playback and took the -12V supply and tied it to ground. I was able to load/store using a Panasonic RQ-2102, but unable to load an MP3 file from my phone. I want to try a .wav file next but it looks like the cassette interface for the replica 1 is working. If you want to see this produced, feel free to email me at vbriel@yahoo.com and I’ll see if we have enough people interested to make a run of these!
