Re: TTY issues due to USB - Serial adapter?

Thanks Vince! It seems that loading programs works fine. (Although Farmer Brown didn't quite work in the same way both when I typed it in manually and when I loaded it via the serial port. It's always an ants only game.) So, it seems that there's something getting kooky with output from the Micro-KI...

Re: TTY issues due to USB - Serial adapter?

Thanks for the reply... I have followed the manual closely, though I had originally set my character delay and my line delay set differently as per another recommendation on this forum. I tried again with 5ms character delay and 200ms line delay and still had the same issue...

TTY issues due to USB - Serial adapter?

ok... finally got the usb-serial cable for my laptop... after setting up through hyper-terminal, it's acting kind of buggy. I get some sort of communication with the terminal but it's like thus: K 037B C 03DA 40F 047 3 44A 043 48F 041 (this is what I get with repeated enter key hits) It seems to try...

Re: Kim -1 Emulators

Whelp, I'm on a flight right now were I can't use my MICRO-Kim. So, I tried using the Soft 6502. Alas, I copied and pasted the clock program into a text document, and loaded it into the emulator. Clock program didn't work. It just gave me "1F1F 00" in the display. From everything I checked...

Kim -1 Emulators

I've done some searching for some Kim - 1 emulators to work on code when my Micro KIM isn't available. I've found a couple of them mentioned in searches, but many links are dead. I did find the KIMplament , which runs on a 64... but the idea of running an emulator through an emulator... while exciti...

Re: Micro-Kim not quite there yet... 1uF capacitor polarity?

And, as far as replacing that 1uF capacitor... it would have 5mm lead spacing, correct?

thx

Re: Micro-Kim not quite there yet... 1uF capacitor polarity?

I'm only using the 12V for testing at very short periods. I'm about to order a 7.5V one...

thanks!

Re: Just thought I would share

Very cool! What was that board you built and have hooked up to the expansion port? If this is already covered somewhere else, can you point me to the thread?

Re: Micro-Kim not quite there yet... 1uF capacitor polarity?

Ok... an update. After messages with vbriel (who's been an amazing help) I replaced the 5V regulator, and it seems that was the only damage I caused when the magic smoke escaped. I tested the unit w/a 12V 1000mA PS, and I was back where I was. The power LED would come on, but no one was home even af...

Re: Micro-Kim not quite there yet... 1uF capacitor polarity?

I've considered sending this as a PM, due to my incredible embarrassment on this... but if the people want reading material, I suppose I'll oblige and take the hit to my ego. I feel like I've been indoctrinated this Sunday afternoon. I took out the 1uF capacitor, accidentally taking one of the leads...

Re: Micro-Kim not quite there yet... 1u capacitor polarity?

ooooh. you said 700mA. I'll try it with a 9V too (for a short time) as you suggested. Sorry for my continual posts here.
