Re: Scrolling display utility

Thanks, the problem indeed was the missing second 6532. I uploaded the code into my KIM-1 and it works. I just spent some two hours trying different scrolling texts 8) I am not sure if you had coded the demo on purpose to show the messages in a bit weird order (msg5, msg0, msg1, msg3, msg0, msg4 - i...

Re: Scrolling display utility

I was able to play with it a bit over the holidays and made a message scroller using Jim Butterfield's scan routine from Wumpus. Here's the source: Hi. This looks like fun. Could you give some instructions on how to use this? I transfered the KIM-code bit into my Micro-KIM and I get a blank screen.

Re: Recommendations for best Micro-KIM retro experience

The original KIM-1 user manual and especially the "First Book of KIM" are very nice introduction (or refresh-training) materials to the KIM. I typed in all the examples on my Micro-KIM and did all the excercises. Just make sure the power cable is securely connected and that the Micro-KIM i...

Re: New to KIM: couple of questions

Thanks for the tip. After realizing the problem being with the timer, I remembered seeing a mention of that in the 'First book of KIM'- thread where the 'Asteroids'- game was fixed in a similar manner. I copied the address of the timer that the fixed 'Asteroids' used, and managed to get 'Farmer Brow...

Re: New to KIM: couple of questions

New to KIM: couple of questions

Hello all! I received my Micro-KIM couple of weeks ago. Assembly was great fun and the board worked from the first try! I have had some interesting time typing in programs and wondering how this thing works. So far my absolute favourite programs are Lunar Lander and Multi-Maze, truly fascinating pie...
