Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

Hi Cappy 2112, Am I mistaken, but isn't there already basic for the KIM1? It seems like I've read something about this somewhere.... yes, there is. There's both TinyBASIC and Microsoft BASIC. Here is a reference to TinyBASIC running on the KIM1, but not the actual code :( https://www.princeton.edu/...

Re: What are your use cases for the Pocketterm

I have a CP/M machine I built a while ago. With the Pocket Term I attach to a LCD display and PS2 keyboard and I have a portable CP/M machine. Also used it on Fignition kit with communications upgrage. Planning on using eventually on my 1802 Membership card. That way I don't have to have a computer...

Re: Are you taking Pre Orders for Altair 8800 Micro?

Also interested in the Superboard.

AS of my reply, the order link for the Micro Altair is enabled on the website.
No telling how long it will take you to actually receive it though

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

Hi Cappy2112, e.g. VT100 or VT220). I just think that is probably the easiest way to get a BASIC with full screen handling. That was my idea. I don't know if it would even be feasible. My dream was just to get a BASIC with full screen editing capabilities and not just a line oriented one. Still, (E...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

It would be even better to have an EEPROM such as the 28C256 (32KB, less than $8) so you don't need an EPROM burner or UV eraser; the 6502 on the MicroKim will be able to write data to it as if it's a RAM chip. If the hardware design is done in a smart way, it will be possible for the 6502 to copy ...

What are your use cases for the Pocketterm

I'm curious why you would need a Pocketterm, as opposed to going directly to your PC serial port

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

I'm curious- as to how having Commodore basic would be useful, since none of the Commodore hardware would be present to take advantage of.
Why not at Tiny Basic or one of the generic Basics, that are not tied to specific hardware?

I've found nice copies of the KIM-1 manuals

Most of the links for the KIM-1 docs that I've found online point to really bad (poorly paginated) copies of the KIM-1 manuals. Many are in html or .txt format, which results printed copies that are undesirable to use. This link has nicely paginated PDFs files for the Programming, Hardware, Kim Hint...

Re: Paper tape format with all opcodes

Thanks for that.
My disassembler is passing all opcodes, but I want to compare its output to yours.

Re: My 6502 disassembler- not working on the paper tape dump

Your disassembly dump was a big help! Thanks If you've got more disassembly dumps, please post them (and a reference to the sources, so I can compare my output). Glad to help. If I find other interesting examples, I can post them here (and hopefully you will download my assembler to generate your o...

Re: My 6502 disassembler- not working on the paper tape dump

For reference, when I got my Kim-1, I extended my 65xx cross-assembler with paper tape format output (both as output of the assembler, and as input for the built-in dis-assembler). Below is the dis-assembly for battleship. $ lin2c64 -dP battle **** MOS Technology 6510 Assembler **** for the Commodo...

Re: Please add me to the list for the Altair 8800 Micro kits

This was on the Briel Computers http://www.brielcomputers.com/ site. I will be purchasing on when they are back in stock. To answer the high volume of orders we are cutting back on some items that slow down order processing. We are not discontinuing items, just trying to catch up. The Altair 8800 m...
