Re: Activity L.e.d.s for disk A and disk B?

waltermixxx wrote:excuse the bad blue tape job, i just wanted to get a feel for it :)

Cheers. :)

That tape job actually looks pretty good!

For the floppy disks I would probably use something that resembles 5.25" or 8" drives instead of 3.5" drives though, for more authenticity...

Re: Getting ready for the 8800 micro.

I own a Televideo terminal (mine is a model 925 which is almost the same as a 950 except it uses a lower video resolution and doesn't have smooth scroll). I got it off eBay a couple of years ago because I saw one for sale and I remembered using them when I was studying computer science. They are ext...

Re: Dutch, german and some english: KIM-1 Elektuur Junior DO

I was looking at this yesterday. Some interesting stuff there!

I found one broken link on the DOS65 page: "DOS bouw" gives a 404.

Re: KIM Kenner/6502/uP kenner magazine issues

This may not mean much to many people, but it's a great archive of Dutch 8-bit computer history. In case the website might disappear, I took the liberty of downloading all the PDFs and zipping them up in one giant file, that I put on my website at http://www.goudsm.it/KimKenner_6502Kenner_uPKenner_A...

Step 3

Here's another view of the side of your brackets. Superboard space bar_2a.jpg Superboard space bar_2b.jpg If you mounted the space bar onto the switch, take it off. Put the stabilizer into the slits of the brackets, with the holes for the wires towards the front edge of the PCB, and use the wire inc...

Step 2

Use a sharp blade to cut a piece off one of the small IC shipping tubes that came with the kit. It should be about 1cm / 0.5inch long. The actual length of the piece isn't critical but it should be a little longer than the distance between the mounting holes in the circuit board. Superboard space ba...

Step 1

The kit comes with two inserts that you push into the bottom of the space bar. As you can see in the following picture, they are slightly asymmetric: one side extends just a little further from the center than the other. The side that extends further should be towards the top of the keyboard (i.e. t...

Improved space bar stabilizer

The instructions in the Superboard III manual for mounting the space bar aren't very clear (and there are no pictures to help you do it), and I couldn't get it to work very well that way. The problem is that the keyboard switches are designed to be mounted on a metal frame (as well as the circuit bo...

It is REDICULOUSLY important to make sure you push the keyboard switches all the way down. They're kinda snug (which is a good thing!) but if you don't push it all the way down before soldering, you will probably end up with keys that are just a little bit out of place.

The keyboard is absolutely gorgeous and feels great! Except for the space bar, but I'll get back to that.

It worked the first time I plugged it in! Now let's fix the spacebar, and then maybe I'll make some improvements to the firmware.

Pictures of my build

I got my Superboard III for my birthday two weeks ago, and built it the weekend after. Some unexpected life events kept me from posting these pictures before, but here they are. Sorry for the quality, it was dark in the house so it was difficult to get the phone camera to focus. NOTE: I'll make a se...

Re: 16K replica 1 plus rom image?

Nice pictures!

I have to say, I would have put the parts much closer together on the board, though.

See e.g. the wire-wrap version of my Propeddle project that I made a while ago... http://propeddle.com/?p=238
