Re: 16K replica 1 plus rom image?

If you click on the Releases button, it will take you to a location where you can download the schematics of the first pre-release as PDF. It has a bit of feature-creep so you may want to eliminate the jumpers and the expansion bus; the Apple 1 and Superboard emulators will work fine without those (...

Re: 16K replica 1 plus rom image?

You could also just solder a 65C02 onto a Propeller proto board (RAM chip optional; no EPROM required either) and make an L-Star. And the nice thing is that you can turn that into a Superboard emulator too ;-)

Re: 16K replica 1 plus rom image?

You can download the image files from my Github: https://github.com/jacgoudsmit/L-Star/blob/master/Software/Apple1. The 6502.rom.bin file contains integer basic, Krusader and Woz Mon. There's also a 65C02.rom.bin file which contains the version of Krusader that supports the 65C02 opcodes; the BASIC ...

Re: 16K replica 1 plus rom image?

Thank you for the link, Is this the 16k version? I checked briefly from my phone, and the file size reported 8k. I can check again from my computer when I get back from lunch. Sorry I removed the post after I realized you were looking for the 16K image (apparently after you read it, and before you ...

Re: Why not an ASCII keyboard kit?

I proposed the same thing to Vince while we were working on the Superboard III. I think there is probably a "market" (as far as you could call a few potential customers in the Retro world a "market") for retro keyboards and terminal emulators. It would be a whole different experi...

Rumors of Vince's demise...

I just want to post here that although we haven't heard much from Vince Briel in the forums lately, he's very much alive and unharmed by the aliens that abducted him. 8) I ordered a Superboard III kit last week, and exchanged some emails. He told me he is very busy, but he mailed my order within a w...

Re: Strange KIM behaviour - faulty 6532?

Before sending the file, did you type L ? Or did you make sure your file has an L at the top? I believe that's the command you need to make it start "eating" input from memory dumps.

Re: The KIM-1 Article consolidation project

An interesting project! By the way, it looks like The Internet Archive has OCR'd PDF's: https://archive.org/details/micromagazine Click on "All Items (most recently added first)", then click on any issue, then select "PDF with text" to download the OCR'd PDF. (Funny observation: ...

Re: Superboard 3 Case

As a simple solution, I mounted a piece of plastic on the board using nylon standoffs. Some more details can be found here: http://jefftranter.blogspot.ca/2015/03/superboard-enclosure.html Nice work, Jeff! I wonder how much it would cost to get MKT (http://mountainkingtech.com) to make a custom cas...

Re: Troubleshooting

Now that I have assembly completed, I powered up, and now the basic seems to work, but my 7" LCD display is flashing. Display about 1/10 second, off for 3 seconds. Any ideas out there? No bad solder joints that I can see. Tested to see if interface was OK by using my Replica-1. That works fine...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

Well I'm not the proud owner of a Micro-Kim kit ( replica 1 too ). Time to get started building.:) One thing I'm going to do is see if my EPROM programmer will read the one in the kit and make a backup image of it. Both the Replica-1 and the MicroKim use EPROMs whose images are available online. No...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

You may want to see this: https://github.com/jacgoudsmit/L-Star/tree/master/Software/KimStar The KimStar/MicroPle1 directory in the GitHub Repository linked above will let you use a Propeller QuickStart board and a few wires to add the Replica-1 functionality to the MicroKim without losing the KIM f...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

I did accidentally erased my EPROM once and Vince was so nice and help me out by sending the ROM image file so I could burn another EPROM. I can either send you the ROM file or burn an EPROM and send it to you if you like. Note however, if you choose the latter option, it'll come from Switzerland, ...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

well, an EPROM would "feel" more like the olden days than an EEPROM would. ;-) But then, I don't mind as long as anybody would design/build one. :-) It would be cool if it would eat the space from $9000 to $ffff. In this case there'd be enough room for any kind of ROM code, i.e. BASIC, an...

Re: Micro-KIM EPROM expansion?

There's nothing special about Commodore BASIC. My idea was just to remove cassette routines and routines that deal with the Commodore serial I/O, the SID, VIC, etc., thus making the ROM smaller. But I'd leave (and modify) the screen handling routines in so that one could have full screen editing on...
