Hi - can you post code in assembler or C showing how to change baud rate, bits etc on the serial port? Thanks

I spent some time looking at the AVR code that emulates the 8080 and trying to figure this out. It looks like with the current firmware it can't be done in 8080 assembler code as it doesn't support it. Appears it has to be done by the Propeller CPU.

How about a video showing how to update the terminal and CPU software?

I'd be willing to look at the code to see what it would take to add ports to change baud rate etc.
The code to configure the serial port must already be in the firmware. I have not
received my Altair yet but I guess it could come any day now. The danger
I suppose is that I could brick the machine-is it possible to fall back to a
stable version of the firmware in this case?

@Jeff: thank you very much for making and sharing those videos on youtube!
I watched them all and enjoyed it really very very much. That was also a good reminder to get back to this neat little computer and spend some time playing with it.

Recently I found a very interesting website, related to CP/M stuff: http://www.schorn.ch
The nice thing about that website is that almost all CP/M stuff there is customized for the VT100 terminal (which actually was not a very typical choice in the real CP/M age). However the stuff there is not directly accessible as the CP/M files, but as images. So you first have to download and run the SIMH based altair emulator from that page. Then it is really easy - the CPM 2.2 there contains tools to export files from the disk images.
