Hi Vince thank you for the answer. I'm interested in the beta production card with serial support. Is it too late to get one?

Status update:

The boards are due in today, YEAH! I'm still waiting on some parts that take a little while to get. The serial-USB adapters are coming from China and take forever I guess. There are some misc other parts but most everything else is ready. Once I have have built and tested some boards, I'll be shipping the disk controllers out.

What you will need if you are getting an assembled unit:

Phillips screw driver to open case, and screw down the board.
Batteries: 3 AA NiCad or NiMH batteries. I found harber freight carries some 2200mah batteries for around $5 a pack. DO NOT USE STANDARD ALKALINE BATTERIES, THEY WILL BE DESTROYED.
Install the new CPU chip before installing the DSK-RAM board as the board sits directly over the CPU chip.

What you will need if you are building the kits:

Solder, wire cutters, soldering iron, Phillips screw driver, time.
The female header to connect to the main board solders on the top side of the board. It is labeled, look for it. The expansion header connector (Male) solders from the bottom like every thing else.

Just a note: The batteries I bought did not allow me to put the case cover back on the batteries. It could be that NiMH batteries are slightly larger and the case was made for Alkaline, I can't remember off-hand. Just so you know this and there is nothing wrong with your battery case.

The manual will be very BETA and please let's note changes that are needed to help future users out. I will make updates before the final run begins.

I hear a rumor that CP/M 3 will be working very soon! This was not the goal of the project but what a great step. Firmware 5.1 will be included with the kits. You will need to flash the terminal with the latest version that will be on the CD included with the board.

Happy Holidays,

Vince

OK, I have all the parts except the stand-offs that space the disk controller board up from the mainboard. These should be here in a couple days. Orders WILL begin shipping by Dec 10th. Keep in mind I'm also balancing christmas orders at this time of year so it may take about a week to get everybody's order shipped.
