Voltage Chips Switched

Postby joeykrug » Sep Wed 12, 2012 10:42 am

Hi, I accidentally soldered my voltage chips in the opposite spots from where they belong. Any tips on removing them? Ive tried using a solder sucker and desoldering braid and can't get them out :(. Thanks.

Put lots and lots of flux on it, then try the solder sucker and maybe braid. I have noticed that the thinner solder needs a lot to flow and be sucked away. Just be careful and use a temperature controlled iron. You can easily lift some of these traces on the board if you out too much heat. If you have access to a desoldering station then it's a 30 second job.

Cheers,
Corey
