Transfering files to replica I TE

Postby rookie2013 » Dec Mon 23, 2013 4:31 am

Dear forum,

I am having issues with transferring text files from my Windows 8.1 PC to my replica I TE.

I have tried to transfer the "BASIC" text files, and also the direct "write to memory" text files that come with on the replica I TE CD-ROM.

When I try sending them, they go thru but it appears that an extra character gets recognized by the replica I on every line received.

Setup:
Hyper Terminal Private Edition 7.0 (trial mode) with the recommended serial port settings.
A TRIPP-LITE KEYSPAN USB to serial adapter, Model USA-19HS. A 6 feet DB9 M/F serial straight thru cable.

Any ideas on what might be wrong here?

I don't have a serial communications sniffer, so cannot see what is flowing back and forth other than what is shown on the display.

I can post a video showing what's happening.

Thank you,

Try Tera Term, it's a better program.

Folks,

This issue has been resolved.

The problem was an error in the setup of the Hyper Terminal Personal Edition 7.0 software.

"ASCII Receiving: Append line feeds to incoming line ends" check box, under ASCII Setup dialog box.

This box should NOT be checked.

The Replica I Setup and Users Manual, July 2010 TE Edition should be updated to reflect this.

Cheers,
